1. Who you are, how old you are and what you do?
My name is Corey, I am 25 years old from Singapore. I used to work in a
Nike store here in Singapore in the past and studied Marketing.
2. Location and crew?
I run with a group called Purplelights here in Singapore. The group was
founded back in late 2011 by a couple of friends, gradually the group expanded
over the years, but the core values of the group still remains.
3. What you have gained from running?
I would say friendships and a better me. The people I’ve gotten to meet
during my running journey open my eyes to make me realise that there is so much
more than just purely running itself. And running changed my life, I was no
longer overweight, and I began to look at life with more positive attitude.
4. What you hope to achieve in future?
I hope to complete my first full marathon sometime soon in the future
and also inspire more people who has that “fear” factor towards running to pick
up running.
I guess it's my personal approach towards running, I never like to put
pressure on myself every time I run, like giving myself a certain time to
complete or minimum distance to run for. I always approach running as an
expression of fun, Personal fitness was becomes a natural progression but is
never the main focus. As the group has a saying, “The Difference is that you
ran today”. So as long you’re out heading for a run, any run is a good run
because you’ve already ran your best.
