I love Indie Music

I spend alot of time listening to music on an app called 8tracks, which is where I discovered London Grammar, Daughter, Ed Sheeran and the like, if you do not know these artists please do youself a favour and find them on youtube.

I have been thinking about what I am going to post as a thank you to THE WOMEN. This song by Elle Mae Bowen popped in my mind and it reminded me how women in fairy tales are always depicted in fairy tales, as damsels in distress needing a man to save them. Sure enough I have come across girls like this, but I prefer independent girl s who dont need a man because I was raised around that.

Interview after Interview I got the sense of strong women who didnt need men who lead them. women who stood on their own and jumped to their own beat, inspirational strong women.

The chorus of the song goes like this.

"I need a hero
I'm holding out for a hero 'til the end of the night

He's gotta be strong, he's gotta be fast
And he's gotta be fresh from the fight"

I imagine the women saying fuck that to the lyrics and running harder, stronger, further. Those who don't run do not know the pain you endure.
