NIKE WOMEN PRESENTS: Blessing Okagbare
Tuesday, August 11, 2015
"World-class sprinter and long jumper Blessing Okagbare, 26, is already the fastest woman in Africa — her best of 10.79 seconds, is the continent’s 100-meter record — but the Nigeria athlete is less concerned with maintaining her ranking than she is about beating herself." *
I decided to run today even though I have loads of school work to do. When ever I am stressed I lace up, plug in my earphones. Plug out of life and its just me and the road.
On the 22nd of August the IAAF World championships begin in Beijing. I am a FAN of athletics, I think it is because when I was younger I was always first from the back. I resorted to living my track days on the television screen. When the Olympics and Commonwealth Games are broadcast my main sports are track and field and swimming.
We have been on a journey of Finding our Fast, challenging ourselves to push ourselves further. Its not about them, its about you...
Blessing has got that mantra on lock, focused on beating herself. The fastest woman in Africa, she is one to watch...
& I want her tights :)
It's the year of the Woman, Happy Women's Month
