We hitting #outernational streets tonight for our #MCM
My name
is Jeremy Tobing, u can call me Jeremy. Im from Jakarta, Indonesia. Im turning
24 this year on 12 July. i study Graphic Design and now I work as a Visual
Designer and Visual Merchandiser that usually got to be on desk from 9 to 6.
And everyday i partly managing my running crew's (@rushrunners) social media on
instagram & facebook fanpage.
On running…
I started to run in 2013 when I stopped my hobby as a capoeirista (people that do
capoeira) and I don't have time to go to the gym cos in Jakarta the traffic is
really really heavy when it comes to after office hour. So i was looking for a
new sports that i can do anytime, anywhere. Thats when i lace up my running
shoes.
On Street culture...
From
elementary school i really like to customize my shoes, bags and tees with
permanent markers, paint and any kind of coloring and drawing tools and sells
them to all my friends. Right now the culture changing for me,as a designer i
really love to make everything that i hadled can impress everybody and make
everybody happy. So thats why i handling all about design, tees, jackets,
stickers,etc of my running crew (RUSH RUNNERS) im trying to blend the street
culture with running.
I'm the
captain of Rush Runners, Jakarta based running crew. Starting with just a junior
runners and love to ask anything to my senior runners just so i can share all
about running to my friends. Wanna make running as a lifestyle and make friends
from running. im interested in speed rather than distance, but over time im
trying and training for better me and about to taste Full Marathon (really
wanna do it on Shanghai Marathon).
Besides,
i really enjoy this lifestyle and yeah, im the type that will focus only on one
sports (im a capoeirista before) so i hope i can do running to the fullest.
This culture really brings amazing things to me. Im amazed that i can meet lots
of amazing people, inspiring people that shares the same passion. these people
tells me to be a better me, to be more active, and live my life to the fullest.
On gadgets...
Really
loves all about tech right now. And yes im using the sport watch, social media
and running apps to spread the virus of running and healthy lifestyle. And im
trying to using all of it to the maximum so people can be motivated by that. talking
about using gadget for a good purpose.
On injury...
i confess that i don't wanna shows my injury cos i know it will affect the crew. Cos untill now, i never skip our weekly run. Event that day my ankle was sprained i still come to the session and bring the crews hydration. I dont wanna be a burden and i want to show my running families that im okay, yeah don't worry about me just focus on your runs.
To get into that state, everyday i always had little training for my body. For example everytime i go to the toilet, i do 3 minutes wallsit. The next i go there, i do 12x4 lunges. before and after sleeping i always do 5 minutes plank. Yep little training like that will makes my body fit so that i can run together with my crews, hopefully minimizing the chance of injuries.
achievement
on running in my opinion is about you and yourself. so i must say that my
achievements is that i can run faster when im running with my dude Febri. We
got
best 5k
: 20minutes 30seconds
best
21k (and my first half) : 1 hour 52 minutes
and on
mid 2014 i was selected to be the part of Nike Just Do It campaign : Run Java
Island. I think that's the best achievement and best running experience in my
life.
Top of
that, i think my achievement is that i can show the joy of running to all
junior runners, so all generation can run.

i
really love to share my journey not only about running, but also about the
gear, the love that u got from running, the love from people that runs with
you, anything. Everytime i post something on instagram, im trying to inform
others in Jakarta that "active and healthy" lifestyle are exist. Not
only drinker & smoker that run this city.
On Pink...
i do
running cos it's clears my minds, open up my way of thinking and helps me to
reflect all the problems that got in my head. just put your earplug, lace up your
shoes and go for a run while enjoying my moody playlist.
On Pain...
My crew
is my family, when im in worst condition i can just come to our weekly session.
Jog with all the crews and have a dinner & cup of tea after that. This big
family will give me the chill and good advice. When the pain is meaning in sick
condition, Instant messenger on my iphone really2 helps me to get connected
with my running fams and have a good chat n laughing together.
When I die...
I dont
wanna be a burden, so at least i must be healthy so when i die, i die because
it's time. Not because of sickness, drugs or any kind of shitty this world
gives. Hope the spirit to get healthy will be contagious
