On You…

My name is Evânia Cabral, I'm 43 years old, I'm Brazilian, lawyer, married and the mother of two beautiful girls! Everyone needs an escape valve to stave off stress and figured out how to do it: with the race! I can not live without. It's a love affair!!!

On Balance…

At first it was very difficult to reconcile my professional and personal life with physical activity, but when you have the will and the discipline, we can make time for everything! Work and children occupy a good part of my day, but I can reconcile super well.

On Running…

I started running in 2005, for my husband's encouragement, but I did not have a workout routine. He only ran when he felt like it. About three years later I had a knee problem, and by 2007 my orthopedic doctor recommended the knee strengthening. From then on I went jogging routinely and I never had any more pain in my knees.

On Miles…

The longest distance I ever raced was the half marathon (21.1km - 13.1 miles). I've done several and I love this distance! But before breaking that barrier, I did several 10km races until I felt ready for the half marathon.

On the Streets…

I can not always run on the street, but that's where I feel fulfilled. The feeling of freedom is incredible! Mind and body are in tune, and pleasure is inexplicable !!!

On Pain…

The pain is yes, but with training discipline we are getting stronger and the race is getting easier! It's a good pain! Pain of strengthening, of pleasure, of conquest, of overcoming.

On Women…

In Brazil, the number of female runners has increased greatly. When I started running few women ran, but nowadays thousands of them have fallen in love with the sport. Women are currently strikingly prominent!

On the first run…

The first time I ran, I did not like it. I found it tiresome and without pleasure. At that moment I could not understand why people spoke so well of the race ... And I believe this happens to most people the first time.
I advise not to give up! At the beginning it will be difficult even because it is a new activity and your body needs time and training to adapt. But if you persist and get through this phase of adaptation, you will fall in love with the race, just like me !!!

On social media…

I am part of a global movement called ASICS FrontRunner. We share our passions in common with racing and our experiences to inspire others across the world by participating in races and events. We believe that a healthy body will always have a healthy mind!
I share my experiences on Instagram @evaniabsc, on my Facebook page https://m.facebook.com/evaniabsc/ and on the ASICS website
I'm very happy when I can inspire someone to move, because I MOVE ME !!!

On the future…

Next year I'm going to run my first marathon (42.2km - 26.2 miles). Already have date: 02/06/2019. It will be in Brazil, in Porto Alegre.

I'm really looking forward to this moment. I know it will not be easy, but I also know I can do it.
