Q. Who are you and what you do for a living?

I am Queen Mohale. I have been a Serial Entrepreneur since 1994. I founded Dimpho Corporate & Promotions in 1996 and has been running it since. I have just launched QM body & bath products range using natural ingredients with no preservatives

Q. How do you balance your exercise regime and your professional life?

I ensure that I work out in the morning to get it out of the way, before I start work

Q. When and why did you start running?
I started gym in 2001 after the birth of my son to lose the post birth weight, regain strength and build muscles. Running in 2003, we were in Cape Town having a good time and drinking wine, we made a pact with 2 of my friends that we will start running when we get back to Jo'burg. 16 years later, I am still with the same friend and more recruits on the streets running (hahaha). So far we have run 8 International marathons, a few local ones and in 2017 I attempted Comrades Marathon and got cut off at 68km.

Q. What motivates you to go out there, when you do not feel like it?

How running has transformed my body makes me get back on the road. Mainly, the people I run with who have turned into my family. I enjoy the fellowship, connecting with nature, the beauty of our city, the views, the fresh air. I am also committed to this lifestyle, I can’t bear to disappoint myself and my team. The feeling after the run, gets me to wake up even when I don’t feel like. So, I have learned to ignore my mind when it wreaks havoc

Q. What gives you the confidence to run in the streets?

I run with a group of friends.

Q. What was your best running experience?

All my international marathons, the sight-seeing on foot and also the hilarious supporters of Soweto Marathon. The whole fuss excites

Q. What was your worst running experience?

It is always the worst experience when nature for me to relief myself and there’s no toilets available when needed. I’ve had a few accidents over the years (hahaha). The public toilets queues and the smell are my worst nightmare, for some reason every runner suddenly has a running tummy before the long distance race - nerves(hahaha)

Q. How do you push through the pain?

I have learned that pain is temporal unless there’s an injury. Pain also helps me to build mental strength. So, I have learned to be resilient over the years and to look for motivations and draw energy from fellow runners

Q. What advice can you give somebody who wants to start running?

Just start….take that 1st step and keep walking and then you’ll run, be kind to yourself take it slowly. If you rush you will burnout and injure yourself. I think having a buddy that you share the same vision with helps so that you can encourage each other on this journey

Q. Which Social media sites are you on and how can one follow you?
