Q. Who are you and what you do for a living?

My name is Mmeli “Bangane” Ncube and i am a mining entrepreneur (mining engineering student / occupational safety and health practitioner) , and a creative


Q. How do you balance your exercise regime and your professional life?


I take it that my exercise as how brushing tooth or dressing my self up is, meaning it is part of what prepares me for the day. So each and every day i make sure that i make at least 1hour for exercises before going out for work.

Q. When and why did you start running?


I started running last year August(2017), i started it as a way to detoxify my body from weed/marijuana i had been almost a year(day in day out), during the course of detoxifying myself i then developed love for running because it gave me mental health and a sense of easy



Q. What motivates you to go out there, when you do not feel like it?


my greatest motivator when i don’t feel like exercising is the fact that i don’t do it, i would be defeated by situations along the day cause i wouldn’t have dressed fully



Q. What is the longest distance you have ran? 

My longest distance so far is 8 kilometers/ 4 minutes

Q. What gives you the confidence to run in the streets?


I get confidence from the fact that i do this to challenge myself not anyone else
Lack of exercise is a danger to both mental and physical health

Q. What was your best running experience?


My best running experience was when i ran 6 kilometers for the first time in a pace of “4minutes 11seconds / per kilo”, on that day i felt if i kept on with practice i could run on big competitions

Q. What was your worst running experience?


I ran when the sun had risen which is what i hate bigtime, during after the run i nose bled


Q. How do you push through the pain?


Every time when i start feeling pain, i always remember that “no pain, no gain”, i then push more so i get more of the pain.


Q. What advice can you give somebody who wants to start running?


Running is best way you can train/coach yourself for taking on life.
