I saw a meme yesterday that said "Sundays must be made in China, because they do not last very long". I am not a fan of Sundays, I feel like time sprints on Sundays. I have decided that this is going to be my week of  "Get Shit Done" I was inspired by this lady ofcourse. All I have been seeing on her Instagram is a person chasing down her PB's and getting shit done.

For this week lets adopt her mantra with a 1 minute plank :)

On who you are…

I am a theoretical Microbiologist turned management executive as I work as a Support Manager to the GCEO of a marketing communications company in Lagos. Rose is a down to earth, jovial, easy going and enthusiastic lady. Her love for others are evident in her choice to always look out for the best in others by motivating them to reach their peak despite the odds. She recently found so much love running and enjoys it. Rose intends to be a certified fitness instructor.

On running…

I have always been an active person right from childhood. I was part of the relay team in Elementary and High school. I caught the road running bug in March 2014 when a fitness app(Truppr) was introduced to Lagosians.

On your First Run...

I registered for my first 5k, it was a hard one as I ran-walked but ensured I got to the finish line. Since March 2014, I have not looked back, I committed myself to do 1200km in 2015.

On Street culture…

Street culture offers me the opportunity to view my environment in various phases: while running I have seen homeless individuals, miscreants and other fit buddies banishing the calories.

On running culture…

This is one aspect that has increased my mental and physical Strength. It has imbibed in me the skill of time management with reference to priorities.

On gadgets…

My prized gadget while running used to be my Samsung phone but right now, it is my sport wristwatch that I value so much. I try to use the headphones but I treasure the sound of my environment.

On injury…

I have been so blessed not to say the least. I can’t remember any injury(ies) asides little pains on my knee(due to gait and running style). Nothing has kept me off running for more than a week. On days when I go sore from some resistance, circuit and HIIT; I find time to rest and get back on. I encourage people to listen to their bodies.

On achievements…

I have conquered several 5ks,10ks,15ks, 2 half marathons and looking forward to a 42k in November. I came in second fastest female in ARM Pensions 5miles competition in July 2015.

On future goals…
I intend to do 5 official half marathons in 2016 and become a certified fitness instructor.

On your social media…

I'm active on social media; twitter:@reloho_1, Instagram: @tusheloho, Pinterest: Rose E and facebook

On Pain…

After the pain comes the glory. I mutter that my pseudonym should be “pain” It is exciting when I cross a threshold of pain.

On women’s running (why women should run)…

Women should run as it affords them the opportunity to stay fit and healthy. Also, it aids them to mould their body pre- & post-partum. Running is a free sport that offers one time to reminisce, stay organised and have fun.

On the Past you (what would you tell your non-running past self)…

My past me might not have been a runner but she certainly walked great distances. I remember ditching car rides to enjoy my “walk time”. In a sentence to my past self “ you missed rocking the track”

When I die…

I want to be remembered as one who lived to the fullest exploring opportunities and influenced lives via my works, actions, deeds and words.
